Delegate, Automate & Relax

November 6, 2015

There's only so many hours in a day and many of us spend an unreal amount of our work day on time-draining tasks that we don’t enjoy, don’t have time for, or aren't very good at. This leaves us feeling stressed, overworked, and overwhelmed.

If you're looking to save time in order to spend more time doing the things that really matter, you will need to learn to to say ‘no’ to things that don't serve your ultimate goal as well as start looking for ways to delegate and automate as much as possible.

Here are a few everyday tasks that that every small business should consider automating or hiring a professional. Read on and start scaling back that to-do list!

  1. Website Design
With so many website builders out there, you may be tempted to build your own site. Unless you've have extra hours to spend learning about the latest website trends, the newest browser compatibility, or security updates; you're probably better off leaving these types of project to the professionals.

  2. Social Media
Social media seems simple enough, so why not manage it yourself, right? The truth is, there's a ton to know when it comes to all the different social media channels and keeping up with Facebook updates is a full time job in itself. A well organized social media plan not only includes goals but ways to measure success. If you don't know the difference between a Facebook page and a personal profile, then you defiantly should find a professional who does.

  3. Email Marketing
Email marketing is a great way to communicate with your current and potential customers. Unfortunate, I still see emails in my in-box littered with spelling and development errors. Email is a representation of your business, and grammatical errors don't shine a positive light. Instead, think about a hiring someone to help you on a project basis or to develop an email marketing plan.

  4. Accounting
I was tempted to figure this one out on my own, but soon realized that this was better left to the professionals. With minimum investment, you can sit down with an experienced accountant that can keep you up-to-date on the newest tax laws as well as let you know what taxes you owe and keep you out of trouble.

  5. Paid Advertising
Companies like Google and Facebook want to make it as easy as possible for you to sign-up to advertise with them. Like all businesses, they want to make money. If you don't know what you're doing or don't keep an eye on these platforms, your bill can skyrocket without any real results. It's important to hire someone who knows there way around and can steer you away from costly mistakes.

Once you're schedule is cleared from all the time-consuming tasks, you can focus on what really matters, your business! What time consuming tasks will you delegate this week?
